Fun + Games Renovation
CLIENT: Private
LOCATION: DETROIT, MI
YEAR: EXPECTED 2025
This playful multi-space renovation in Boston Edison brings new interest to the mudroom, stairway, and attic, which is reimagined as a game room, library, home theater, and bathroom. The design includes a large table for boardgames and ample shelves for displaying games, books, and collectible comics. A glass partition separates the home theater area containing a projector, screen, couch, and built-in drink niche. Beyond the theater room, a cozy reading nook entices you with built-in bookshelves and a mini-bar niche for drinks and popcorn. Hidden bookshelf doors conceal two offices for work and videogames.
In the renovated bathrooms, the geometric tile color shift defines separate areas while maintaining a sense of openness and calm. Colorful cast concrete sink, geometric mirrors, matte black fixtures, and minimal vanity pendants bring a playful vibe to the clean palette.
